Out of doors your child may participate in a whole host of activities for a substantial part of the day, weather permitting. Quality play equipment is plentiful which provides your child with wonderful opportunities to enhance their physical development and social skills. Inside the nursery is fully resourced to provide your child with stimulating learning opportunities. The curriculum that they follow is carefully planned, this will underpin future learning as he/she progresses through the academic life.
As one of the core building blocks of early education your child will develop mathematical ability through a range of interesting activities, age and stage appropriate.
Through group and individual activity we aim to develop language and literacy skills through news sharing, story telling and early letter recognition.
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
To prepare for the years ahead, we encourage social interaction and development of basic life skills, key elements of this process involve dressing and undressing, working in Small groups, turn taking and consideration for others, appropriate use of behaviour, developing a respect for their own and others attitude and just as importantly, we actively encourage independence.
We positively encourage children to express and communicate their ideas, thoughts and feelings by interaction with an extensive range of materials and suitable tools and becoming involved in imaginative play.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
We realise that life is not confined to the nursery environment and children are given every opportunity to explore the world outside. Through exploring and investigating objects, growing seeds and bulbs and an introduction to technology we hope to cultivate a better understanding of the world at large.
To compliment mental advancement our children enjoy a full active physical agenda, children are encouraged to participate in musical movement and the use of malleable materials.
The most important thing is for the child to feel safe and have FUN.
